Venetian Causeway Bascule Bridge Restoration

This project for the Florida Department of Transportation, District 6, consisted of the removal and replacement of a 2,000 LF structure across Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. Work included the removal of the existing bascule structure and approach bridges, construction of a new bascule bridge including steel erection, electrical, machinery and hydraulics, drilled shafts, mass concrete footings, precast arch girder construction, historical handrail replacement and paving. A VECP (Value Engineering Change Proposal) was introduced into this project by GLF saving the project $500,000 and two months of time.
